Where Found: The rain forests of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay

Genus/species: Ceratophys ornata

These large frogs will eat whatever comes into range. They will patiently wait for prey to come close before striking. They hide in muddy puddles and leaf litter and ambush prey. They have an extremely large mouth (that’s why they are called pacman frogs) they have been known to eat snakes lizards, mice and many other types of prey.

The Bell horned species are commonly kept as pets  because they are so easy to care for. They don’t need a lot of room, because they rarely move, they simply sit and wait for food to arrive.
